Office Administrator – Community Church of Durham


Immediate part time (18 hours per week) opening for friendly person with exceptional organizational and communication skills. Position calls for ability to maintain confidentiality and to work with frequent interruptions; respect for the mission of the church; and comfort welcoming and working with people.


The skills we seek:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Solid design and layout skills, for use in creating newsletters
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to take direction and to work independently
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • Social Media experience desirable


What to expect: You’ll work with a caring staff and volunteers, and you will:

  • Serve as the first point of contact with the church
  • Set a welcoming tone and help people to connect and to stay engaged
  • Answer calls and emails, referring inquiries to the appropriate personnel
  • Prepare and distribute weekly worship bulletins, weekly and monthly newsletters
  • Prepare correspondence as directed by individuals or teams
  • Maintain church database
  • Handle all aspects of student parking rentals
  • Other duties as assigned
